Did Not Register For Jury Duty Reddit

Have you missed jury duty? Did you get arrested or fined? I missed jury duty

I did not skip on purpose, I completely forgot about it. Am I fucked? I'm on govt aide and unemployed. What happened when you missed jury duty?

I missed jury duty before and it was not a big deal. When you get a summons it usually has you call in each day to see if you have to report or not. WHen Iit missed they sent me a letter stating a new date and that it was a mandatory report no calling in. I went and reported and was sent home that same day good for another year.

I missed it the last two times... Nothing happened.

Having said that, I just got a jury summons in the mail, and it would probably be wise not to ignore it a third time...

Yea do it the third time for sure lol. After I skipped twice they sent me a warning when I got my third summons for a fine if I didn't show up again.

I've gotten a jury summons and they told me to wait for a call. Never got it so I never went. I don't think it's a big deal.

You're good, I skipped two times in a row and on the third time I got threatened with a $1000 dollar fine. Just handle business next time you get summoned.

About 5 years ago I was sent a letter for jury duty. At the time I just started a new job. So i didnt want to miss any days. I called and asked if i can change it to a monday instead of the asking day, thursday. They decide to just move it to next month on a Thursday. This kept going for a few months. Eventually I forgot to reschedule and they didnt even bothered mailing me after that.

Nah, they aren't that strict. They will probably just send you a new summons for a different date.

I missed jury duty earlier this year and they sent me a postcard saying that their records indicate that I failed to respond to my jury duty summons and they asked me to call or log in online to handle my failure to respond. It also said not responding may subject me to a fine of up to $1500.

I registered online in June or July and my summons date was rescheduled for August. I just had to check online to see if I had to report in physically, but I never did. Thanks Covid!

I sent mine back saying I was pregnant and was never called back

I've been summoned 3 times since I was 18... I've never went. Never had any issues yet 😂
